A Year in Review: June

June began my "Official Photography Season" with my first paid job. But I was also blessed to do a photo shoot with a very special mom who found out she was pregnant just a few short months after her husband suddenly and unexpectantly passed away. I met her at one of my church's Ladie's Breakfasts and when I met her and heard her story, I really wanted to do something special for her. I offered to do a photo shoot for her "new" family and she accepted! To this day, it is one of my favorite things I have ever done as a photographer. My dream is to one day, be a Missionary Photographer.

I also had the honor of being in my friend's wedding all the way in Arkansas! It was awesome to be there and share her day with her AND I got to meet one of the nicest and honest photographer, Nicole. She has become my closest "photography buddy" and has helped me to learn so much in the last 7 months! She is a true blessing to me!

And finished the month with my first of three weddings for the season. This bride had one of the MOST beautiful dresses I have ever seen!

May was certainly an emotional month! I celebrated 10 years with my wonderful husband! Had to say goodbye to some VERY dear friends who had to move waaayyyy across the country. Attened the Calvary Chapel Bangor Ladies Retreat and got to visit with a friend who came home for a visit!

April: Tinyman turned FOUR!! Did a Newborn shoot for a friend. Threw a Bridal shower for my friend... And... took pictures of my kids feet. :-)

January: Tinyman's train obsession continued......

Attended a Baby Shower for a friend. All 3 of these ladies were pregnant then and now having 3 beautiful bundles of joy in their lives- amamzing!

Tinyman and the rest of the kids enjoyed ALL the snow we had. :-)

February: Einstein bought me some beautiful flowers! ( A rare and special occasion for me!)

Einstein took the girls to the Annual Father/Daughter Dance. They had a BLAST! (They have a wonderful daddy!)

Attended a Birthday Party for a very special Boy. Super Fun!!
March: Did a "Brothers" shoot with my boys- spur of the moment. They cooperated :-)

Caught Joker painting Sassy Pants toes. (SO CUTE)
Went to my FIRST Homeschooling Convention. It was LIFE CHANGING for me. :-)
Also got to catch a beautiful sunrise. I love to watch the sunrise, it is so breathtaking!

Einstein and I attended a Concert with Brandon Heath and one of our favorites: Third Day! So awesome!

And finished the month out with another Baby Shower for another friend.

GoodByes Are Hard......

****WARNING!! This may make you cry. So grab some tissues or go to another blog if you don't want to get emotional. I wanted to share this part of my life, as hard as it was, because it's important to me... and because it's my blog and I can do what I want here! ****

This is my wonderful, bubbly, beautiful, fellow-homeschooling friend. Her husband lost his job when his Mill closed. They are moving to Washington ....state. Yes, across the country.... this Friday. To say I will miss her would be the understatement of the year. But I know that "There is a season for everything" and I know the Lord has BIG plans for them.

But I'm still sad.

She has such a kind, sweet husband who's been a great friend to mine.

And 2 VERY handsome, sensitive, articulate bright boys who have been fantastic friends to my kids.

And she has a little girl on the way... due in September......

Her boys love her so much. She is such a fantastic Mommy to them.

They came today to say goodbye.

It was very, very hard.

We tried so hard not to cry.
We failed.

We will miss them horribly.

I'm so thankful for Facebook, blogs, emails and telephones.

But they won't be right down the road anymore....

Or in church on Sundays.....

"B" is a wonderful Sunday school teacher with such a gift with children.

There will be a gigantic now hole in our Children's Ministry.

She has been there for me so many times. She is a friend who will cry with you and then tell you you have mascara running down your cheek.

Or if you have something green stuck in your teeth....

She brightens every room she enters and will surely bring a smile to your face.

And I know I'm not the only one who will miss her and her family......

I pray the Lord brings them back at some point in the future. I know He has plans for a future of good things and is leading them to green pastures. What an adventure awaits them!!

But I am still sad.

I will miss my friend.

We ate dinner at a place called "Thistles" and it was absolutely fantastic!

They had fresh bread with garlic oil for dipping....

And the BEST coffee we have ever had. They served it with sugar cubes- so fancy!

We stayed at The Hilton. It was so beautiful. Here is just one of the lounges they had. Doesn't it look so cozy?

They served a beautiful breakfast. I didn't take my camera to breakfast, but I wish I had. You should have seen Einsteins plate! He loves breakfast.

We had to leave pretty early to get back home but it was so nice to get away with my husband. It was just what we needed in our very blessed, but busy life we have!

Ok, I will admit I was quite frustrated with my editing program and my lack of knowledge of "photo-shop". As hard as I tried, I just couldn't get the shots of this little guy to look the way I KNEW they could look. So, I emailed my friend Hannah Wilde with a desperate SOS. She responded with these little gems less than 24 hours later. All I can say is WOWOWOW!!! She truly knows her stuff! I was so blessed that she would take the time to help me out and show me a few tips in Photo-editing to boot! Let her know what you think of her editing in the comments section- come on, show her a little love! :-)

1st Day Back At The Playground

Today I drove over 45 minutes to take pictures of this little guy. And as excited as I was, *this* is how the photo shoot started....
After a diaper change and a nursing, he calmed down a bit. phew........
He sure does love his Mama. This may be one of my all time favorite pictures. Look at him stare at his mom. So precious.
And I love newborn dreaming and their smiles. I knew if I sat there long enough, he would give me "the sleeping grin". It only took him about 3 minutes. He's so cooperative, isn't he?
And this is how the photo shoot ended: all snuggled up in a warm fuzzy blanket and a sucker. I just love his hat.

I have much more to share later. This will have to do for now. I have no idea how Hannah @ www.hannahwildephotography.com does this ALL the time.

*My* hat is off to you Hannah. This was hard work. So worth it at the end of the day, but hard work none the less!

She is so beautiful, inside and out. The most kind-hearted person I've ever met. I'm so blessed she became a "Susen" last August. And my kids just adore her!

They came very quickly and the good news is I had my camera within reach. bad news: I didn't have my telephoto lens on my camera and bad news #2: I didn't kick up my Aperature enough so they're not quite in focus. :-( My husbands little brother spotted then and I literally had 15 seconds to get my shot. This was the best I could do. It was still really cool and I have never seen deer that close-up before!

Just some cute details from a Baby Shower I attended a few weeks ago. This little baby girl will be the best dressed kid ever! She got some incredible clothes and other gifts from her very generous family and friends who attended.
I loved how she hung the outfits on a clothesline as part of the party decor.

There is also a book *2* out now! These wonderful activities are designed to keep preschoolers busy with edifying and educational activities that are actually captivating! The best part is most of these projects only cost a couple dollars to assemble! If you get a few MOPs together ( moms of preschoolers) you can d a swap! I love sharing cool things I've learned on my journey of motherhood! Yesterday was a yucky, rainy, cold day and this was the perfect thing to occupy my restless toddlers for a while.

You are my first "public" to see my business idea. I've been thinking about putting scripture to my photographs for some time but just yesterday I decided to "take the plunge". Now, it's not an original idea and I don't expect to become "rich" off from it, but I think it is a worthwhile pursuit. Now here's where you as my public comes into play- I need your FEEDBACK.
